This Japanese Samurai Sword Tanto embodies the essence of traditional craftsmanship, boasting exceptional quality and authenticity. Crafted from 1095 high carbon steel, the blade's Maru-style lamination enhances its structural integrity. The blade's journey involves meticulous heat treatment and hand forging to eliminate impurities, resulting in a blade that is both resilient and refined.

The clay tempering process employed in its creation fuses resilience with flexibility, culminating in an exquisite hamon (temper line) that gracefully adorns the blade. This authentic hamon extends to the very tip of the blade, showcasing the dedication to detail in its craftsmanship. The blade's design features one short, deep Hi on each side. This innovative inclusion serves to not only reduce the blade's weight and provide auditory feedback when wielded, but also to achieve an optimal balance for enhanced performance. The Chu Kissaki (medium-length tip) further contributes to the sword's balance and finesse.

This Tanto is a testament to the art of sword making, as it forgoes a Tsuba (guard) for a sleek, minimalistic profile. The Habaki (blade collar) stands as a single-piece brass construction, ensuring a secure fit. The Tsuka, or handle, is meticulously crafted from natural hard hualee wood, embracing the traditional construction techniques.

Functionality meets aesthetics in the saya (sheath), also hewn from natural hard hualee wood. The sword's durability is accentuated by the presence of double-pinned bull horn Mekugi (pegs) securing the tang to the Tsuka.

This Tanto is more than just a weapon; it's a work of art and a historical relic. Its heritage is deeply rooted in the samurai tradition, making it an excellent choice for practitioners of iaido and kendo, as well as collectors seeking an authentic representation of this cultural icon.
