This TACHI sword exemplifies the time-honored artistry and techniques of Japanese swordsmithing. Meticulously hand forged using ancient methods, the blade is crafted from folded steel, specifically AISI 1060 High Carbon Steel. This steel has been folded an impressive 10 times, creating an intricate pattern of 1024 layers that enhances the blade's strength and flexibility. The mesmerizing undulating grain visible on the blade is the result of the repeated folding during forging, adding to its aesthetic appeal. The steel undergoes meticulous refinement and tempering, and a specialized clay is carefully applied by hand. This clay application varies in thickness, causing a controlled differential cooling during quenching. As a result, the blade boasts a hardened edge and a softer back, culminating in the exquisite real hamon (temper line).

The blade is meticulously hand polished using multiple grade sharpening stones through the traditional Japanese method. What sets this blade apart is the finishing touch using HAZUYA, an ultra-thin Uchigumori stone fixed with paper. This meticulous process brings out a mirror-like surface on both the shinogi-ji and the edge, showcasing the true craftsmanship.

The TACHI sword is characterized by its "SHINOGI-ZUKURI" style blade, a versatile and common style used in TACHI, KATANA, and WAKIZASHI swords. The blade's shape is further enhanced by a distinctive Chu Kissaki (medium-length tip) with Bo-Shi. Notably, there is no BO-Hi (groove) on each side of the blade, contributing to its strength and cutting power.

The intricate fittings of the sword include a brass flower design Tsuba (guard), a one-piece brass Habaki (blade collar), and copper Seppas (spacers) securing the Tsuba. The handle, or Tsuka, showcases the meticulous craftsmanship with a hard wooden core wrapped in coffee synthetic silk Hineri-maki over black lacquered real ray skin samegawa. Copper dragon design Menuki ornaments adorn both sides of the Tsuka, adding to the sword's allure.

The TACHI's Saya (sheath) is meticulously constructed from hard wood, wrapped with black real rayskin and thick imported synthetic silk cord. The Sage-o, the cord tied around the scabbard, is skillfully wrapped over a bright copper Kurigata. The overall presentation is complete with a brass Lion Menuki (hilt ornament).
